Almost a year ago, the Framework agreement on cross-border telework was signed by several European countries, allowing employees upon certain conditions to work remotely abroad from their country of residence for up to 49.9 % of their time, without affecting the applicable social security legislation. This solution combines the interests of workers, employers, and social security institutions to face the reality of telework. How is this going and are more flexible rules in the pipeline?

We will discuss this with Bruno De Pauw, Advisor General at the Belgian National Office for Social Security (dept. international relations) and rapporteur of the ad hoc group on telework of the Administrative Commission and with our Ius Laboris lawyers Sophie Maes (Belgium) and Melania Soncin (Italy).
