Peter has been involved in numerous high-profile employment matters and frequently appears before the Employment Relations Authority, Employment Court, High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court. Peter is well-known for providing expert strategic advice on international restructuring and high-level executive appointments and terminations. He has extensive experience on global projects, compensation and benefits, working hours, occupational pensions and data privacy.

As Adjunct Professor of Employment Law at Victoria University of Wellington, Peter presents a nation-wide employment law update seminar series annually. He also edits leading New Zealand textbooks on collective bargaining, holidays and leave and basic employment law. Peter is the Honorary Consul General for the Slovak Republic. He is a former Pro-Chancellor of the University of Auckland, former Chairman of the Pacific Development and Conservation Trust and was Chairman of the Pacific Cooperation Foundation from 2011 to 2018.
