Isabelle De Somviele

Isabelle advises clients on occupational pensions and assists with the introduction, modification and harmonisation of pension plans; drafting documents for pension funds and the implementation of the governance rules; setting up pan-European pension funds; and the pension aspects of end of career issues and early departure arrangements. She also frequently advises clients on the introduction of flexible benefits, cafeteria plans and bonus pension plans. Isabelle also represents clients in court in pension related cases.

Isabelle is a regular speaker at internal and external seminars and has published numerous legal articles. She is a member of the editorial board of Life & Benefits’ (Kluwer). She is also a member of IPEBLA (International Pensions and Employee Benefit Lawyers Association), BEPLA (Belgian Pension Lawyers Association) and the International Practice Group Pensions in Ius Laboris. Isabelle is a member of the Brussels Bar. She graduated from the Law School of the University of Leuven with honors. Prior to joining Claeys & Engels she was professionally active in the care sector.
