There are some quite strict rules in certain countries that mandate that employers should monitor the working hours of employees. This is meant to help ensure employees don't work excessively and can take the breaks and rest periods they are entitled to by law.

But when everyone is working from home, it’s not as easy for employers to do this. Gone are the days when employers could simply check people in and out at the door.

So, can and should working time be monitored and does this apply to remote workers? What tools is it okay to use to monitor employers and is there a right for employees to disconnect from work once the working day is done?
