Reopening Colombia: work resumes in ‘shifts’ in Bogotá

On 26 August 2020, the mayor of Bogotá issued a decree regulating the reopening of the economy in the city.  Under this regulation, the reactivation of economic sectors will be conducted through a distribution of activities in different timeslots and shifts.

In a phase that the mayor called ‘the new reality’, Covid-related restrictions have been mostly lifted for the manufacturing and distribution of essential goods (food, beverages, medicines, medical products and devices, pharmaceuticals, cleaning products, disinfection, personal care, and hygiene). For other sectors, work is resuming according to a staggered shift system designed to limit the number of people commuting on any one day.

Accordingly, as of 27 August 2020, these are the shifts applicable in Bogotá to each sector:
