Expertise in employment status, 'gig economy' matters and international projects

Colin has a particular expertise in platform or ‘gig’ economy matters, working on high profile employment status disputes. He advises regularly on trade union and collective rights matters and also has a keen interest in cross-border work, co-organising Lewis Silkin's annual Managing an International Workforce conference.

Colin advises on issues such as redundancies, disciplinary proceedings and grievances. He has significant experience handling high value litigation (in the High Court and Employment Tribunal), industrial relations and collective rights issues, TUPE, equal pay, cross-border projects and international employment advice. He also advises on key new issues for employers such as gender pay gap reporting, executive pay gap reporting and the Modern Slavery Act.

Colin has been voted the Lexology Client Choice UK Employment Lawyer of the Year 2020 by in-house counsel. Who’s Who Legal: Labour and Employment has listed him as a leading employment lawyer and ‘thought leader’. He is also rated by Chambers and Partners and Legal 500 and speaks regularly at internal and external conferences.
