Sang Wook Cho

Sang Wook Cho joined Yulchon as an associate in 1999 and became a partner in 2007. From 2003 to 2004, Mr. Cho worked on secondment at the Korean branch of General Electric. Mr. Cho advises leading domestic and foreign companies on all manner of employment-related legal issues and represents companies in disputes involving dismissals, wages, the illegal use of dispatched workers, and more. Mr. Cho also frequently assists clients with internal investigations, negotiations, and HR compliance issues. Mr. Cho speaks often at seminars and conferences for Amcham, the BCCK, and the Korea Employers Federation, and delivers lectures and workshops at leading Korean companies on labour reform, wage issues, fictitious contracting, multiple labour unions, and fixed-term workers. He also writes columns and articles on labour and employment issues for Work Law, a monthly journal. He has been listed as a leading employment lawyer by Chambers Asia Pacific and Legal 500, and named by Who’s Who Legal as an expert in labour and management as well as pensions and benefits. Since 2016, he has served as a legal advisor to the Ministry of Employment and Labour.
