Luis Alvarez

Luis provides legal advice on labour and employment relationships, including advice relating to the hiring process, disciplinary measures, modifications to employment terms and conditions, transfer of business and termination of employment. He assists employers with development of strategies to avoid litigation with regard to employment policies and personnel decisions, and helps them to ensure that they are fully in compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations. Luis advises on effective strategies for the coordination and execution of dismissals of senior executives and mass workforce reductions, including selection of employees for layoff, notification requirements, severance benefits and separation programs with releases of potential employee claims. He also represents clients involved in employment-related litigation, including individual and collective claims before local and federal labour boards in Mexico, and assists global companies in handling domestic employment investigations.
