Katie Van Nostrand

Katie has a broad range of experience helping clients navigate the intricacies of business immigration law and related human resources issues. Katie represents business clients in their endeavours to obtain Canadian legal work authorization for international talent while providing advice on both long-term and short-term immigration goals. She routinely assists clients with immigration audits and inspections, and advises on compliance obligations. She also advises on and prepares permanent residence and citizenship applications for both employees of business clients and individuals. Clients in the technology and visual effects industries and other industry segments with a global focus benefit from her knowledge of the complex interaction between immigration and employment regulations. Katie also researches cases for the British Columbia Annual Practice. She is a Canadian Bar Association mentor to a first year UBC law student and to a young lawyer through the CBA’s Women’s Law Forum.
