Normally, we offer live face-to-face events, but this year we have gone online and run five events over the course of the year. Two of those were for European lawyers, one for our Middle East and Asia Pacific firms and two for firms based in the Americas.
The online courses have included a module on international project management and a hackathon, in which lawyers work in teams to find innovative tech solutions to issues that we typically advise HR professionals about.
We also often run business skills courses on topics such as English legal drafting, presentation skills, networking and negotiation. We update the programme regularly to make it relevant to what is happening in the world of HR.
The University speakers are the perfect mix of internal and external experts. Previous external speakers have included Simon Dawkins of Red Kite Training, and Judith Raphaely (an industry expert on writing and communication skills).
The current internal group of University presenters consists of Hannah Price of Lewis Silkin, UK; Philip Nabben of Bronsgeest Deur Advocaten, The Netherlands; Valeria Morosini and Ornella Patané of Toffoletto de Luca Tomajo e Soci, Italy; Sophie Maes of Claeys & Engels, Belgium; Román Gil Alburquerque and Gisella Alvarado of Sagardoy Abogados, Spain; and Tiffany Downs of FordHarrison, US.
Our University is where learning and experience come together. It’s the space where Ius Laboris lawyers solve problems, have conversations and build their capabilities.
The courses aim to make a meaningful impact on our people and community worldwide.
The Ius Laboris University provides an opportunity for our associates to further develop their skills, whilst interacting with lawyers from other member firms.
These events offer workshops for professional growth along with a varied social programme which ensures that lawyers throughout Ius Laboris get know each other well, the better to work together.
Each event is designed to encourage learning, networking and idea sharing.
